This short 5 days Myanmar tour will bring you to the former capital of Yangon (Rangon), with its colonial atmosphere and the world famous Shwedagon Pagoda, to Bagan (Pagan), one of the richest archaeological sites in Asia and to Mandalay, the city of the last Myanmar Kings. Walk over the U-Bein bridge in Amarapura, climb up the 1729 steps to Mandalay Hill and cross by local riverboat the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy)River to Mingun, to see the huge Mingun Bell and the nearby unfinished Mingun Pagoda and PyinOo Lwin formely known as Maymyo:flower city or hillock step city was a British Hill Station during the colonial era also in current pretty little hill resort for visitors.

DAY (01) YANGON ( -/L/D )

shwedagon11Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport welcome by our local guide and transfer to the Hotel. After check in a few hour individually rest . Afternoon sightseeing starts with National Museum; (displayed of exhibits including royal regalia and lion throne of last monarch in 19th century), Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda (a huge reclining Buddha), Karaweik Hall, a Royal floating barge on the Royal Lake for a photo stop and late in the afternoon, visit the Shwedagon Pagoda described by Somerset Maugham: "The Shwedagon rose superb, glistening with its gold, like a sudden hope in the dark night of the soul of which the mystics write, glistening against the fog and smoke of the thriving city." This massive bell-shaped stupa rises nearly 100 meters above its hill-top surroundings. Wander through this magnificent structure and its courtyards, stupas, bells, Temples, and Buddha images, and see religious and secular visitors from all parts of the globe. Shwedagon has become the symbol of Myanmar. Enjoy the sunset over the Pagoda. Overnight in Yangon.


untitled-2Morning flight to Mandalay, the city of the last Myanmar Kings. Upon arrival drive to Amarapura the "City of Immortals" and visit the 150 year old Mahagandayon monastery, and famous Buddhist learning center. It is home to a thousand monks, who will form a procession as they go to take their noon and final meal of the day. Amarapura was the capital of upper Burma until 1850. As was the custom, most of the important wooden palaces and monasteries were taken down and transported to the new capital in Mandalay. Apart from Pagodas that have survived, the ancient art of silk and cotton weaving, using handlooms, is very much alive and visit U Bein wooden bridge, over 150 years old, which is still in use.

After lunch drive over Ava bridge to Sagaing, 21 km southwest of Mandalay and visit the Sagaing Hills, a retreat for Buddhist devotees with numerous Pagodas, monasteries and nunneries. Visit the village of Sagaing, at the foot of Sagaing Hill with markets, shops and restaurants; one of the monasteries on the hillside; the Tilawkaguru cave temple, with mural paintings; Umin Thounzeh caves, containing 45 Buddha images and Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda built in 1312. The view of Sagaing from here is outstanding. Late afternoon come back to Mandalay.Overnight in Mandalay.


lionAfter breakfast drive to Mayamgyan jetty to watch the busy riverside activity and take a local riverboat to the ancient capital of Mingun (appr. 1 hour per way). On arrival Mingwan jetty you would be welcomed by many young souvenir sellers. Visit the Settawya Pagoda,with a footprint of the Buddha, walk to the huge Mingun Bell (it is world's biggest ringing bell 90 tons), Mingwan lion (this twin statues are so big also guardian to temple)and see the nearby unfinished Mingun Pagoda, built to be the world's biggest pagoda and visit the Hsinbyume Pagoda, a reproduction of the mythological Mt. Meru. After that walk to Myatheindan Pagoda (unique architectural splendid of King Bagyitaw for memory of his wife).

Then come back to Mandalay. In the afternoon visit the Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its exquisite wood carvings, Atumashi Monastery, the "Incomparable Monastery". Then we will bring to Mahamuni pagoda; ( it is sacred Buddha image covered by thick layer of gold leaves).After that we will go to the Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world's Biggest Book for its stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures and sunset on Mandalay Hill, a vantage-point for panoramic view of the city. Overnight in Mandalay.


pyinoolwin1After breakfast we will drive up to Pyin Oo Lwin: ( formerly known as Maymyo , flower city or hillock step city was a British Hill Station during the colonial era also in current pretty little hill resort for visitors.

We will serve welcome green tea minimum bitterly when we arrive there then we will begin sightseeing in Pyin Oo Lwin ( formerly Maymyo was established by the British as a cool retreat from the heat of the central Myanmar plains). The first place is on the way to there is called very pleasant picnic spot Peik Chin Myaung natural cave ( geologist estimated it could be between 2100 million and 3100 million years old) is near Wetwun village.The second highlight is Pwe Kauk Fall; ( about 8km from town. It was called Hampshire Falls during British times). After that tour spot to National Kandawgyi Garden, ( about 50-acre in size containing, 4840 trees mostly pine varieties, 575 different floral species and many exotic fruits and flowers). We will stop and show you flowers and fruits stall beside the road when drive down to Mandalay. Overnight in Mandalay.

DAY (05) YANGON / Departure ( B/L/- )

departureAfter breakfast we will serve transfer to Mandalay International airport back to Yangon.We will pick you up Yangon international airport and sightseeing of Yangon: Sule Pagoda , dating back over 2000 years, the Mahabandoola Park with its Independence Monument and walk around the downtown area and the sprawling Bogyoke Market. Wide streets, orderly town planning and neglected public buildings revive visions of British rule, while busy streets scenes and shimmering pagodas, bursting through a leafy canopy, hint at the rich local culture. Skyscrapers and glaring neon billboards have yet to overtake the capital.Afternoon free at your own leisure, till transfer to Yangon International Airport.
